Police have arrested 32 people in Pattaya, most of them transvestites, for violation of the emergency decree on Saturday night.
The arrests were made following a raid on a house in the Bang Lamung district at approximately half past midnight. A combined force of local, tourist, and immigration police responded to complaints from local residents about excessive noise coming from the property.
Upon arrival, police discovered 27 Thais, four Chinese, and one Pakistani national live streaming on the Kwai app, a video social networking application.
The suspects were performing acts in various positions for viewers to see when police entered the premises.
The authorities followed covid-19 protocol by taking the temperatures of all 32 people before bringing them to Nong Prue police station where they were charged with violating the emergency decree.
Pattaya is currently on lockdown with strict restrictions on people entering or exiting the popular tourist city.
