A Thai woman is facing charges of fraud for posting photos online in which she was wearing a nurses outfit, despite not being a qualified nurse.
The woman, who also claimed she is an alumnus of Borommarajonani College of Nursing, had a complaint filed against her by the Nurses Association of Thailand.
The association is seeking legal prosecution of the woman following pictures circulating online, depicting her as a nurse in a pre-wedding photoshoot with a policeman.
After the image was posted online, many nurses began sharing and commenting on the image, claiming she was not a real nurse, and that she shouldn’t claim such things.
The woman responded to the comments, reportedly attacking and threatening the nurses who called her out for her lies.
Some social media users investigated her profile and discovered that she regularly enjoyed cosplaying as a nurse while dancing in her room.
They also discovered that while she had passed Mathayom 3, she had never attended a nursing institution.
Justifying the complaint, Dr. Orapan Thosingha, Head of Public Relations of the Nurses Association of Thailand, said that the case was reported to “preserve the dignity of 220,000 nurses all over the country.”
The complaint was lodged with police at Muang Nonthaburi Police Station and cited Section 27 of the Medical Profession Act by claiming the woman pretended to be medical personnel and committed fraud by using the uniform of a nurse.
The case remains under investigation.
