
The Thai Government’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration has announced 50 new infections on Friday, April 10th.
The figure is a slight decrease from yesterday’s 54 new cases and brings the total number of cases in Thailand up to 2,473.
Of the new infections, 27 were people who had close contact with previously known covid-19 positive patients, with 11 of these occurring in Bangkok.
Three people recently returned from overseas, five worked in crowded areas, and four are medical staff. There are still eight cases bring investigated.
There was also 73 new recoveries and one death announced, bring the total numbers up to 1,013 recovered and 33 deceased.
The new death was a 43-year-old woman from Chachoengsao with an existing medical condition who passed away after being admitted to hospital with fever and breathing difficulties.
Preventative measures to stop the spread of coronavirus are now widely in place around the country. Numerous provinces, including Bangkok, has banned the sale of alcohol while 16 provinces have gone into lockdown, banning entry or exit.
