An elderly grandmother was discovered on the ground of a condominium complex in Bangkok on Thursday morning after what appears to be a suicide.
The 77-year-old woman had been staying in a condo complex in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district after being taken in by her granddaughter to help her avoid contracting coronavirus.
However, on Thursday morning the granddaughter had gone out, leaving the elderly woman home alone.
According to another tenant in the complex, the woman was sitting at the window of the room on a plastic chair swinging her legs before falling to her death.
Police discovered the body on the ground of the 15-story building on Chaengwattana Road at 6 am this morning.
They said the woman, who was dressed in a light blue khor krachao shirt and black trousers, had appeared to commit suicide, possibly due to the stressful nature of events from the covid-19 pandemic.
The police said they will questions relatives to find out more information about the incident.
