Huge crowds, up to one kilometer long and several people deep, lined up at Wat Don Muang to receive food handouts today.
The temple, like many others around the country, is handing out free food and other items to people who are suffering under the restrictions in place due to the emergency decree.
People queued up in droves, completely ignoring social distancing protocol, along Song Prapha Road.
The temple was giving out free canned food and dried food as well as other various items to people in need.
However, the temple has now been ordered to close due to the sheer number of people who arrived.
District Chief, Paitoon Ngammuk, told Jor Sor 100 Traffic radio station that the temple will close temporarily because too many people turned up and ignored all safe social distancing rules.
It is estimated that up to 10 million people could lose their jobs over the next two to three months due to the coronavirus pandemic situation.
