The Chief of the Phuket Provincial Health Office, Dr. Thanit Sermkaew, has confirmed that all domestic arrivals to Phuket will not need to undergo a 14-day self-quarantine procedure.
It had been understood previously that arrivals from right “high-risk” provinces would be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine when arriving on the southern island.
However, Dr. Sermkaew told The Phuket News that a decision had never been made regarding arrivals from high-risk provinces. He continued by saying that all domestic tourists can go to Phuket without undergoing quarantine procedures.
Inter-provincial bus services resumed to the south of Thailand today, with as many as 11 buses per day arriving in Phuket from Bangkok. Phuket airport is also due to reopen next week on June 15th.
While arrivals to Phuket do not need to self-quarantine, they will still be required to register online using this link – https://phuketsmartcheckin.glideapp.io/.
Registration includes attaching a recent portrait photo along with travel and personal information.
