A top-flight South Korean football club has denied that they placed sex dolls in empty seats during a football match last weekend.
FC Seoul, a popular K-League club, released a statement following allegations that they used sex dolls in the fan-less stadium during a widely televised match against Gwanju FC.
In the statement, the club insisted that they used mannequins to mimic the home crowd and apologized for the controversy.
They went on to say that they were attempting to create an element of fun by placing mannequins in the stands and said they were assured by Dalkom, the company that produced the mannequins, that they were not sex dolls.
However, while Dalkom produces mannequins, they also manufacture sex dolls. Other people questioned why the mannequins in the stands were almost all female during a high-profile football match.
FC Seoul will review the placement of mannequins in the stands for their next football match.
