
A new coronavirus-related death has been reported by the Public Health Office in Yala, revising today’s earlier covid-19 total death figures from 10 to 11.
The deceased was a 79-year-old man who had recently returned from a wedding in Malaysia on March 7th.
He began to suffer from symptoms including fatigue and aches on March 21st before being admitted to Crown Prince Hospital on March 23rd.
Initially, he was considered low-risk as Malaysia is not classified as a high-risk country. He was treated as an outpatient, given medicine, and sent home.
On March 27th his symptoms did not improve and he was admitted to the hospital. At this time he had a high fever in addition to his earlier symptoms.
On March 28th chronic kidney disease, lung disease, and covid-19 were all detected in the patient.
On March 31st, the man passed away in the early hours of the morning.
Currently, Yala, in addition to other southern provinces, including Phuket, are under strict monitoring and lockdown.
