With new coronavirus cases showing no sign of decreasing significantly, there is a strong possibility that Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, will come good on his word to introduce a 24-hour curfew in Thailand.
The cabinet is due to meet again on Tuesday when it is possible a decision regarding such drastic measures will be made.
Today saw 102 new cases of covid-19, an increase on yesterday’s total of 89 reported cases, but a decrease from the peak of 188 cases on March 22nd.
The death total also rose, with three new deaths reported. The victims include a 46-year-old Thai man who recently returned from London, a 30-year-old Thai man from Phatthalung, and an 82-year-old Swiss man who had attended parties and venues in Hua Hin and Bangkok.
The total number of virus cases has now risen to 2,169, while the death total now stands at 23. A total of 674 people have recovered.
