Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly robbing a 7-11 store in Nong Plalai after losing his job due to the outbreak of covid-19.
The man was captured by police after holding up the store with a BB gun and confessed he stole 5,000 baht as he had no money for food or medicine for treating his PTSD.
After committing the crime, the man threw away the clothes he was wearing and the gun in the hopes of escaping capture. However, police caught up with him in the early hours of the morning and made the arrest.
The suspect, originally from California, had moved to Thailand when he was 7 years old and allegedly has connections with a well-known street gang in the United States.
