The number of new coronavirus cases in Thailand fell to a 2-week low, with 89 new infections confirmed on Saturday, April 4th.
With the nationwide curfew beginning on Friday night, the drop in figures will encourage residents that a 24-hour curfew will not be imposed next week.
The 89 new covid-19 cases bring the total number of cases in Thailand up past the 2,000 mark with 2,067 confirmed virus infections. Of these cases, a total of 612 people have recovered.
There was one new death today, bringing the total deaths up to 20. The latest victim was a 72-year-old Thai man who suffered from chronic disease.
Bangkok once again led the way with 31 new cases. Nonthaburi had 13, Phuket eight, and the remaining new cases were spread across an array of provinces.
Many provinces have now placed their own restrictions on residents in conjunction with the nationwide curfew.
