Foodland in Pattaya’s Terminal 21 shopping mall was closed overnight on Wednesday after it was revealed a Thai tourist infected with coronavirus had shopped there 10 days earlier.
The popular supermarket was disinfected from 6 pm on Wednesday night, opening again on Thursday morning at 10 am as normal.
Officials released a notice informing the public that an infected person shopped at the supermarket on April 5th, spending approximately 20 minutes inside.
The notice has warned anyone who may have been inside the supermarket on April 5th between around 5.30 pm and 6 pm to self-isolate immediately if they have any symptoms relating to the coronavirus.
Anyone who has visited the Foodland branch between April 5th and yesterday, April 15th and is experiencing a cough, runny nose, exhaustion, or sore throat should see a doctor immediately.
The supermarket is now back in operation as normal with screenings at the entrance to check customers’ temperatures. People should ensure they wear a mask and practice good sanitation when in public.
