There were 15 new coronavirus cases, and one death announced by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration today, Wednesday, April 22nd.
The spokesperson for the Center, Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, called the declining figures a “small success”, but warned, “it (the covid-19 pandemic) is not over yet because the crises is worldwide and will continue.”
The 15 new cases are four less than yesterday and bring the total number of infections in Thailand up to 2,826. They included 10 people who were in close contact with previously infected patients.
The numbers also include a cargo transport worker, a person who worked closely with tourists, a person who recently returned to Thailand, and a visitor to a crowded area.
The single death was a 58-year-old woman who had previous medical conditions including high blood cholesterol and obesity.
The new figures also included 244 people who have recovered over the past 24 hours. Dr. Taweesilp called the numbers “highly satisfactory.”
