Shocking images have been shared online from a department store in Malaysia that has been shut down since March due to the coronavirus.
The photos, uploaded on Sunday, May 10th, show bags, shoes, belts, and other leather items covered in mold in the deserted store.
The shopping mall in question is said to be the Matrojaya department store in Suria Sabah shopping mall, Malaysia.
The department store released a statement saying the photos were taken for “internal use” and that the store is investigating how the items came to be in that condition.
They also reassured customers that all moldy items have been removed from the store and that a thorough disinfection process is underway and will be completed prior to the store reopening.
The mall and department store are due to reopen tomorrow as Malaysia relaxes some of its coronavirus restrictions.
