A woman from Ubon Ratchathani has tested positive for covid-19 after skipping quarantine in Bangkok.
The report from Ubon Ratchathani’s Center for Covid-19 Situation states that the 30-year-old woman drove back to Ubon Ratchathani after visiting Vibharam Hospital on April 3rd to get tested for the virus.
After the test was completed, she was told by the hospital staff to quarantine herself until the results came back from the test.
Instead, she decided to drive back to her home province with her boyfriend before getting any confirmation about the lab results from the hospital.
On April 5th, the Center for Covid-19 Situation was notified by the hospital staff that she has tested positive for coronavirus and she was tracked down in Ubon Ratchathani.
An official for the Center said:
“The province’s latest patient lived in an apartment with two roommates in Soi Pattanakarn 43 in Bangkok’s Suan Luang district. She had displayed symptoms similar to covid-19 pneumonia on April 1 and went to Vibharam Hospital on April 3 to get tested.”
“On Sunday the hospital notified the center that her test results came back positive for covid-19 and suggested we separate the patient from her family members as well as her 28-year-old boyfriend.”
“She was the 15th confirmed case of covid-19 in Ubon Ratchathani and was the first case in the last four days of no new cases reported.”
Ubon Ratchathani has been in lockdown since March 18th, but somehow the woman managed to get back home without being discovered.
