A manhunt has been launched for two men who robbed a bank in broad daylight this morning in the Chiang Saen district of Chiang Rai.
The robbery happened just after 10 am this morning at a local Krungthai bank when two men dressed in black and wearing motorcycle helmets entered the bank.
According to the employee targeted, just over one million baht had been prepared and placed in a bag ready for delivery to Chiang Saen’s agricultural cooperative.
However, the thieves intercepted the delivery of the cash and forced the driver to hand over the bag before fleeing the scene on a blue Honda Wave motorcycle.
Local police have set up roadblocks and are inspecting CCTV to try and identify the men in question.
They have also called in reinforcements to help with a manhunt for the pair and have alerted immigration as the district border both Laos and Myanmar.
