A school in Ratchaburi province has solved the mystery of their missing pets, including chickens and cats after the janitor caught an enormous python feasting on the small animals.
Over the past two weeks, chickens and cats kept at Wat Aranyikawat Temple School in Ratchaburi province have been disappearing leading the school janitor to keep careful watch over the animals in an attempt to discover what had happened to them.
To his surprise, he eventually spotted a huge python slithering into a pond at the back of the school, and upon following the snake found it had caught one of the school cats.
The janitor tried to save the cat, but the snake would not let go of its meal, devouring the feline in front of the helpless man.
He quickly called a local rescue team which came to catch the snake and remove it from the premises.
After a tense standoff, the rescue workers eventually captured the python, which weighed more than 70 kilograms and was at least four meters long.
The snake was brought away from the village and released back into the wild while the school mourns the loss of their pets to the monster python.
