Four people have been sentenced to 15 days in jail and fined 15,000 baht for breaking the nationwide curfew between 10 pm and 4 am.
The provincial courts in Chai Nat sentenced the four people on Sunday after arrests were made at a checkpoint in front of Chai Nat Bird Park on Saturday night.
The Muang District Chief, Yuthaporn Pirunsarn, said that authorities must strictly enforce the curfew rules or they would be charged with neglect of duty.
The four people were all found guilty and initially sentenced to 30 days in prison and a 30,000 baht fine. However, upon admission of guilt, the jail term and fine were both halved.
A recent poll found that the majority of Thai people are unhappy with how the government is handling the covid-19 situation.
