Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok has made a plea to the public for additional face masks for its staff as coronavirus cases continue to rise.
The hospital is rapidly running out of N95 face masks, with the director, Suttipong Wacharasindhud, stating that they currently only have enough masks to last “another two weeks”.
He went on to say:
“Due to the shortage of masks over the past three months, the hospital has been trying to find them from all possible sources, but it still doesn’t have enough.”
All units of the hospital have been told to strictly comply with instructions on face mas usage in order to preserve their current stock.
The news follows recent reports of people hoarding masks and selling them for inflated prices on platforms such as Facebook Marketplace.
