Jose Mourinho and a few members of the Tottenham squad have been videoed training on Hadley Common in North London amid strict government rules regarding the gathering of people.
The footage shows Mourinho watching over a makeshift training session with Tanguy Ndombele and other players.
Two of the players – Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon – can be seen jogging side-by-side. In the UK, the government has told people that they should only exercise with people from the same household.
The players also broke social distancing rules, failing to keep the recommended two-meter distance between each other while jogging.
A spokesperson for Spurs said:
“All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors. We shall continue to reinforce this message.”
This is the second time Tottenham has come under fire in recent days after taking the controversial decision to reduce the wages of 550 non-playing staff by 20%.
Liverpool had also reduced the wages of their staff, however, quickly reversed the decision after coming under immense pressure from supporters and the media.
