The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has announced that local health clinics and hospitals in Bangkok will offer free treatment for anyone who is suffering from alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
The announcement, made by Bangkok Governor, Aswin Kwanmuang, stated that the BMA was concerned about alcoholics who will suffer during the 10-day ban on alcohol currently in place across the capital.
Those who are suffering from symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, increased heart rates, or other changes due to a lack of alcohol can go to a clinic or hospital for treatment under the supervision of the BMA.
There are 10 hospitals and 68 local health clinics taking part in the program across Bangkok.
For more information or free advice, people can call 02-245-4964 at any time.
There are currently alcohol bans in numerous provinces across Thailand including Chonburi, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.
