
Authorities arrested nine Chinese nationals in Pattaya on Monday night for gambling and violating the nationwide emergency decree.
The bust was made following a raid on a house in the Jomtien Palace Housing Estate located in the Bang Lamung district of Chonburi province.
The raid was led by Pol Col Chidecha Songhong of the transitional crime police and discovered nine men, all Chinese, playing poker around a table in the house.
Police seized two sets of playing cards and several gambling chips as evidence.
All nine men were arrested and will initially face charges of violating the emergency decree concerning gatherings in addition to illegal gambling.
The men were identified as 30-year-old Wang Dong Xu, 33-year-old Chen Jun, 36-year-old Feng Xu, 30-year-old Xia Tian, 34-year-old Lu Xiao, 32-year-old Zhen Yun Lei, 42-year-old Lin Feng, 31-year-old Gan Xiaobini, and 31-year-old Lu Wei.
In addition to the two charges above, Lu Xiao was found to be overstaying his visa and will face further charges by the immigration police.
