Police have arrested nine people at five different locations around Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan province in connection to the online gambling platform, mafia888.com.
The raid was a result of 33.9 million baht being embezzled through a local government office to pay off illegal gambling debts last month.
Police received warrants from the local courts earlier this week and raided five locations around Hua Hin on Wednesday, one of which is a company office used as a front for the online gambling platform.
Police seized a large number of computers, internet routers, gambling equipment, IT equipment, and bank books during the raid as evidence.
Mafia888 was an extensive network of more than 40 websites that operated casino and slot games in addition to other gambling markets.

The platform was hugely popular, generating hundreds of millions of baht every month.
The raid follows a recent crackdown on illegal gambling across Thailand, including the arrest of nine Chinese nationals in Pattaya and more than 200 people in Tak province.
