A man who entered Phu Pha Man Hospital in Khon Kaen province and attempted to rape an on-duty nurse has been found and apprehended by police following a local search.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning when the victim was working a night shift with a colleague and an assistant.
The nurse wrote on her Facebook page that at approximately 4 am she was dozing in the nurses’ room when someone entered quietly.
She claimed that a man sneaked up on her and dragged her out of the room and into the hallway. Despite her screams, the man pulled down her pants and tried to rape her.
Her account of the incident was backed up by a relative of a patient in the hospital who heard her screaming and pulled the man off of the nurse. After that, the assailant fled the hospital.
