The Thai Government has officially approved a second automatic visa extension for foreigners stranded in Thailand due to the coronavirus.
The original extension, which expired on April 30th, has now been extended until July 31st in an effort to reduce queues at immigration offices around the country.
Any foreigner who holds a tourist visa that has expired on or after March 26th can now stay in Thailand until July 31st without applying for an extension of stay at an immigration office.
The visa amnesty also applies to any other visa type that has expired on or after March 26th, although longterm stayers in Thailand are advised to extend their visas as usual.
The new, extended visa amnesty also applies to 90-day reporting which is not now required until July 31st.
