The southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, that includes popular tourist destinations Hua Hin and Cha-Am, is now coronavirus free after the last patient was discharged from hospital.
The patient, a 58-year-old Belgian man, praised the staff who took care of him at Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin and will self-isolate for a further 14 days.
He had initially fallen ill on March 28th and was confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus on April 1st.
A total of 14 patients have been treated at the hospital over the past three weeks for covid-19, with a further three cases occurring throughout the province during that time.
Of the 17 total cases in Prachuap Khiri Khan, two people had died while the rest were discharged after recovering.
