The city of Pattaya will go into full lockdown for 21 days from April 9th until April 30th following an announcement by the Chonburi Governor.
The decision has been taken to try and curb the spread of coronavirus in the popular tourist area which is the most infected region in the province of Chonburi.
According to the order, there will be six checkpoints set up along Sukhumvit Road to stop people from moving in and out of the city.
Only residents and people who work in Pattaya will be allowed to enter the city after tomorrow.
The checkpoints will close the route into Pattaya from both sides and will screen everyone who has permission to pass in either direction.
Pattaya has 30 cases of covid-19 at the last count. This includes 15 men and 15 women, of which 15 are foreigners and 15 are Thai.
The announcement follows a complete lockdown in Phuket, another popular tourist destination.
