The Thai Government’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration has announced 33 new coronavirus cases and three new deaths on Sunday, April 12th.
The number of new confirmed cases marks a steady decline day-on-day since the record 111 new cases recorded on April 8th. However, due to limited testing, it is difficult to say how accurate these figures truly are and how fast the virus is spreading in Thailand.
Bangkok led the new infections on Sunday with 14 new cases. There are also five new cases in Yala, four in Phuket, three in Pattana, two each in Narathiwat and Samut Songkram, and one each in Chonburi, Loei, and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The virus has now spread to 68 provinces in Thailand with the total number of covid-19 cases at 2,551.
The new deaths are two Thai men aged 74 and 44, and a Thai woman aged 65. The death toll now stands at 38.
A total of 1,218 people have recovered from the infection with 83 new recoveries announced today.
During the announcement, Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration asked everyone to cooperate with restrictions over the Songkran Festival period.
