A nationwide curfew between 10 pm and 4 am is set to be announced by Thai Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, at 6 pm this evening.
Despite promises that a curfew would not be implemented in Bangkok, the impending announcement is set to begin on Friday across the country.
Some places, such as Nonthaburi, have already implemented curfews. However, the new rules will supersede any prior arrangement which has been in place.
The curfew will have some exceptions such as the transportation of medical supplies, movement of people in quarantine, and the travel of medical personnel.
The latest figures show that 1,875 people have coronavirus in Thailand, while 15 people have died from the infection.
