Bangkok will not take any further measures, impose a curfew, or shut down the city.
The announcement was made by Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the Government’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration today, Monday March 31st.
During the brief announcement, he mentioned that officials will not force people in Bangkok to stay at home, as has happened in other provinces such as Phuket.
Rather, he requested that citizens in Bangkok cooperate with the current regulations, such as wearing face masks in public and only going out if necessary.
The number of coronavirus cases in Thailand has increased across regions outside of Bangkok due to people traveling home after losing their jobs.
Mr. Visanuyothin went on to remind people that tomorrow is April Fools’ Day and to be careful about what they believe in relation to covid-19.
