The Bank of Thailand has signed a bilateral currency swap agreement (BSA) with the Bank of Japan, effective immediately.
The agreement is designed to enhance the financial stability of both countries, allowing the exchange of currency up to 240 billion baht or 800 billion yen.
This enables both banks to provide either baht or yen liquidity to support cross-border operations.
It also represents a strengthening of the economic and financial ties between Thailand and Japan.
The agreement will remain in place until March 30th, 2023.
