There were no new cases of coronavirus reported in Thailand today, Sunday, May 24th, and no new deaths, leaving both totals at 3,040 and 56, respectively.
It was the fourth time in May that the number of reported covid-19 cases has been zero, showing signs of encouragement that the virus is slowing down in Thailand.
However, as the country has limited testing, the true number of coronavirus cases could be much higher than what is being reported by the government.
A further five patients have recovered from the virus taking the total number of recoveries up to 2,921.
The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration also announced that the next stage of lockdown relaxation measures will take place on June 1st.
The so-called “third phase” of business reopenings may include facilities and businesses such as zoos, exhibition centers, spas, massage parlors, game centers, water parks, tattoo shops, gathering halls, amulet markets, and boxing camps.
Precise details about which businesses will be allowed to reopen on June 1st and what restrictions will be in place are due to be announced over the coming week.
However, high-risk businesses and places including pubs and night clubs will remain closed during the third phase of reopenings.
